Celebrating girls and those who empower them

The Coca-Cola Company - ENGINE Africa Campaign

The Challenge

Our task was to bring much needed attention to and celebrate the work of ENGINE Africa, a partnership between DFID, Nike and The Coca-Cola Company.

This is a partnership that has supported thousands of girls, in a country where around more than 50% of women have no formal education.

The Response

Coca Cola girls

To capture the true scale and impact of the ENGINE Journey, we told this story from three different perspectives, focusing on the people, not the brand. Each film formed a separate piece of a greater story - from partnerships that made the initiative possible, to those on the ground who made it a reality, and to the girls whose lives were transformed as a result.

The Work

The Results

Over a 3 year period, we delivered a series of award-winning films for social media and The Coca-Cola Company global and regional channels. These include multi-platinum awards from both IVCA and AVA.

5by20 surpassed the ambitious goal set and has reached more than 6 million women entrepreneurs—from fruit farmers, retailers and restaurant owners, to artisans, recyclers and distributors—through access to business skills training, financial services, peer networks, mentors and other resources.

They’re a socially progressive company focusing on the community and giving back.
I really did not expect this, it is showing that Coke are trying hard and care about having a social conscience. Well done to them!
This inspired me in terms of community forging - everything you can do in your life can benefit something rather than negate something.
This shows that Coke helps people and sticks around to ensure their success, and most importantly the success survives!
