We like to think we're a pretty informed bunch at Marmalade but there's nothing like hearing the uncensored, authentically honest views of an 8-year-old to make you question your take on the world or give you a different perspective!

Today we're talking to Elsie about what keeps her up at night, the future of technology and what would make the world just a little bit better.

Take it away Elsie!

1. What keeps you up at night?

When I watch TV too late. Also I’m not scared of monsters because I know they are not real, but I do know that robbers can be real and that keeps me awake.

2. What do you want to achieve in the next 12 months?

I want to achieve riding my horse because it is a big challenge in my life.

3. On a castaway island what would be your 1 song, book and luxury item?

My song would be Senorita.

My book would be the third book from Narnia.

I would have seeds because then I could plant them and they carry on for a long time and exist forever.

4. What do you think your life will look like in 20 years’ time?

I think there will be lots of new types of cars and maybe a new flower. Maybe climate change will have stopped and maybe all the rainforest will not be getting destroyed anymore.

5. How is technology going to shape the future?

There will be more hover-boards.

6. If you were president of a country what you would do to make the world a better place?

The first thing I would say is they shouldn’t be doing graffiti because it is ruining the buildings, they could do graffiti in a certain place maybe an art centre.

I would spread the news about orangutans as they could be getting extinct and it is very sad as they are very intelligent animals and we need to keep them safe like all other animals.

7. Who is your inspiration?

My inspiration probably is Holly. She really inspires me at football and tells me that I can be strong sometimes and that I should keep on going.

8. What is the best thing about being a child?

The best thing about being a child is that you only go to school for 6 hours and it is not as hard as going to work. You don’t have lots of responsibility and have lots more energy and you are more flexible. You can have playdates and you can run faster and you can do more gymnastics. You can also pick what you want to watch on the TV.

9. Now that you are older and wiser. What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would say to my younger self that she should always inspire other people to learn new things and try out new things and vegetables and fruit.

10. If you had the attention of the world for just 10 seconds, what would you say?

I would say - fellow citizens of the world, I tell you to embrace growing new plants, eat healthier and try out new things.
